The Embassy of the United States in Spain choose one or two students Spanish, Andorran or resident in Spain or Andorra, to participate in the Benjamin Franklin summer institutes, a program funded by the United States Department of State to promote relations between the younger generations of Europeans, Asians and Americans.
the selected students will participate in an intensive program focused on global issues faced by young people on both sides of the Atlantic. The institutes will take place at the Wake Forest University in North Carolina or Purdue University in Indiana between June 28 and July 26, 2014 and meet 35 students from different countries of Europe and Central Asia with 10 American students. The participants carry out a variety of activities: seminars, community service and volunteering, study trips and cultural events programs. They will work on a joint project and explore how young people today interact with the media, both in his role as consumers and producers of information. Also addressed as freedom of expression imposes on citizens both rights as responsibilities.

requirements and selection criteria:
excellent knowledge of English.
Academic excellence. The candidates shall be accompanied by a certificate of your teaching centre that reflects a note “Remarkable” minimum average (7.5) on your academic record.
Participation in volunteerism and/or community service projects will be valued very positively.
At least one reference letter must be attached to the request.
Applications from candidates who have previously participated in study tours to the United States will not be considered.
